the fear element is HUGE. we're discussing online/IT/tech and it's place in the workplace. i think so many businesses (small or big) believe it is expensive. to add to that, they feel overwhelmed by the changes which come so fast.

the e-commerce stat is very interesting. we found a reluctance w/ clients to use paypal, etc. w/ doogooders. small biz owners can be more efficient and cost-effective though w/ marketing if they use online resources.

It's really an education/fear element that keeps small businesses out of the online space, I believe. There is a brass ring to be grabbed for a company who understands small business and tailors a service offering package towards that niche.

Generating new customers was a business's 'most difficult task' in 2008, while only 46% of them are utilizing search engines. The other 54% needs some ClickRain!
I wonder if that's paid searches or just optimization that they're scoring.
